The Borough of East Washington, at just 0.45 square miles, is surrounded on three​ ​sides​ ​by​ ​the​ ​City​ ​of​ ​Washington​ ​and​ ​borders​ ​South​ ​​Strabane​ ​Township​ ​to​ ​the​ ​north.​ ​The​ ​Borough​ ​is​ ​comprised​ ​of​ ​residential​ ​and​ ​institutional​ ​uses;​ ​home​ ​to​ ​part​ ​of​ ​W&J​ ​College,​ ​Faith​ ​​Christian​ ​School,​ ​Thayer​ ​Street​ ​Playground,​ ​​and​ ​the First Christian Church​.
