Mark Connors asked council if he could be part of the Crime Watch program within the Borough of East Washington. Mayor Gomber said he would have the Chief get in touch with him about the program.

Code Enforcement and Zoning Officer – Training for the IPMC conference was very informative with discussions about occupancy licenses and legal aspects of sober living houses. Report on file in the office.

Action Items
Motion Mary Taufer, second Tamara Chacko to approve IPMC – International Property Maintenance Code Ordinance regulating the maintenance of all property, bldgs., and structures in East Wash Borough. Motion passed.
Motion Mary Taufer second Tamara Chacko, to approve Act 20 Ordinance and Agreement with Jordan Tax Service to collect delinquent garbage fees. Motion passed.
Motion Mary Taufer, second Matt Boice to approve a ¼ page Ad ($25.00) for the Tri-County Borough Association 69th Annual Banquet Motion passed.
Motion Mary Taufer, second Tamara Chacko, to set cell phone allocation for Aaron Lucero, Public Works, at $60.00 per month and Mr. Lucero will get his own personal cell phone plan. An expense check will be cut from the General Account each month. East Washington Borough will cancel his line from the borough and no longer be billed for his cell phone service. Motion passed.
Approved Council Meeting Minutes April 4, 2016
Motion Mary Taufer, second Matt Boice to notify the City of Washington based on the East Washington Borough Planning Commission recommendations, to request the joint zoning map be re-drawn and move the educational district back to the city line. This excludes the property that W&J College currently owns. Motion passed.
Motion Mary Taufer, second Tamara Chacko to appoint Christopher Mascara Council Member to fill the council member vacancy. Motion passed.
Discussion with council regarding Columbia Gas – Expanded gas lines in Borough. Also discussed the Agility Agreement with PENNDOT and paving of streets in the borough. A possible recommendation may be to wait until Columbia Gas has completed their construction of new lines within the borough before paving.
President Tucci asked council for any recommendations for Council Member, Zoning Hearing Board Members and one more Planning Commission member needed.
Council Member Jerad Cypher expressed interest in attending the PSAB Annual training June 5-8, 2016, Hershey Lodge-Register by May 5, 2016
