John R. Inghram – 518 Central Ave. –request interest in paper alley to
Motion Cheryl Amodei-Mascara, second Mary Taufer, to renounce any interest in the paper street in the Borough of East Washington at the address of 518 Central Avenue except public/private utilities. Motion passed.
Tom Shade, 115 Christman Avenue. Request information from the borough as to the status of the storm water drain situation on his property. Also requested reimbursement for repairs to his driveway due to the storm water drain that is the responsibility of the Borough of East Washington.
Motion Mary Taufer, second Cheryl Amodei-Mascara to authorize $5,600.00 payable to Tom Shade for reimbursement of repairs to his property due to storm water damage. Also, require Tom Shade and Johann Shade to sign a settlement agreement releasing the Borough of East Washington from claims. Solicitor Makel to generate the agreement. Motion passed.
Debbie McKensie, 35 Thayer Street. Ms. McKensie requested a Children at Play sign be installed at the corner of Thayer and Christman.
Motion Mary Taufer, second Cheryl Amodei-Mascara to authorize Public Works Supervisor, Aaron Lucero to purchase and install “Children at Play” sign at the corner of Thayer and Christman. Motion passed.
Reca Panian, Park and Shade Committee. Ms. Panian stated she was very pleased with the mulching and all the work done by the Public Works department, (Aaron, Nick, Ted) at the playground.
Reports
Secretary – Public Utility Commission funds received $30,863.52. Jordan Tax Service Garbage collected to date – $99,424.36. Secretary received a very nice phone call from Mary Lou Berger, Sherman Avenue. She returned from Florida. She was very pleased with the paving on Sherman. She also wanted to thank the Police Department for checking on her home in her absence.
Public Works – Received bids from Tennis Roofing and Garland for the repair and/or replacement of the garage roof. Salt Storage shed roof will be completed with a few weeks weather permitting. Mr. Lucero stated he received 2 quotes for a leaf box. He will be checking with Canton Township and Mt. Lebanon borough to see if we can lease or purchase a leaf box. Also, weather permitting address pot holes in the borough and Bakewell within the next few weeks.
Police Department – Mayor Gomber – None
Chief David Bradley – Chief Bradley gave his report indicating drug arrests, stolen car and a problem with coyotes in the borough and is researching suggestions to remedy the problem. Chief Bradley also requested the approval to sell the two Chevy Impala police cars that are not being used, need repairs and still remain on the borough insurance. In addition, request authorization to hire 4 additional part-time police officers to provide police protection during vacations and/or medical time off of officers.

* Mary Taufer – Mrs. Taufer stated she has contacted Senator Bartolotta and Congress Murphy and there is no funds available for tree removal. Discussion continued and the best suggestion is to do a plan and try to spread the cost over a 5 year period. Homeowner responsibility.
Discussion about speed bumps and how to slow traffic down in the borough.
Mayor Gomber recommended the council hire Kelley Falcon as part-time police officer.

Solicitor – Solicitor attended a court hearing regarding back taxes for Mr. Retos. Mr. Retos is to pay back taxes for 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 in the amount of $8,000.00.
