Call to Order President Guy Tucci called meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

Motion Mary Taufer, second Tamara Chacko, to approve the May 4, 2015 minutes. Motion passed.
Motion Mary Taufer, second Charles McHugh to approve bills, $ 32,185.61 General Motion passed.
Mayor requested Executive Session beginning of the meeting due to circumstances that he could not stay for the entire meeting.

Motion Mary Taufer, Second Matt Boice to appoint effective June 1, 2015 David Bradley, Part-Time Chief of Police at a salary of $15.75 per hour and no benefits. Motion carried.
Motion Tamara Chacko, second Mary Taufer to terminate/vacate effective June 1, 2015 the position of Officer- In-Charge. Motion passed. Solicitor Makel indicated that the borough abides by the employment-at-will policy which permits the Borough or the employee to terminate the employment relationship at any time, for any reason with notice.
Motion Mary Taufer, second Guy Tucci, to authorize salary increase of $1.00 per hour for Aaron Lucero, Public Works Supervisor, effective June 1, 2015. Motion passed.
Public Comment
John R. Inghram – 518 Central Ave. – paper alley. Mr. Inghram asked Council about purchasing a paper alley. Solicitor advised Mr. Inghram the process and doing a quiet title action. Solicitor Makel will call and meet with resident and discuss at the next meeting.

Secretary – Council met with Palermo/Kissinger for 2014 annual audit and there were no findings. April balanced accounts and budget in packets.

* Mary Taufer –Vice President. Discussion about unsafe trees in East Washington Borough. Vice President Taufer suggested that a letter could be typed and then she and Council Member, Mrs. Chacko could visit residents in East Washington to discuss the ordinance these regarding unsafe tress. She suggested that she could discuss with the property owner the possibility of a joint effort to get the trees removed. She also requested Solicitor Makel advise her how to set up a 501(c) account for donations to be used for any playground upgrades in the park.

Action Items
Council discussed the request for the the Pony League World Series Association. Permission will be granted to hang the sign as long as World Series Tournaments, Inc. will assume full responsibility and accept full liability for erecting, maintaining and removing all signs and banners in East Washington Borough.
Council discussed the Parking areas around the Borough Building and the Handicap-Visitor Parking area. A memo signed by the President of Council will be given to all employees designating the areas where employees are to park during normal business hours as well as when there is a scheduled public meeting between the hours of 6:30 pm to 9:00pm.
Discussion regarding Christman Avenue and the storm water issue at residence of Tom Shade. Solicitor Makel suggested contacting our engineer Widmer Engineering to get an estimate of cost and recommendation from Widmer to fix the storm water drainage problem on Christman Avenue. Public Works Supervisor Aaron Lucero meet with Widmer Engineering and discuss recommendations at the next meeting.
Motion Matt Boice, second Guy Tucci to rescind the motion to sell the Old Yellow truck to Rusty’s and authorize 422 Auction Sales to auction the truck after Council Member Matt Boice gets an estimate of the value of the truck. Motion passed.
Council discussed the Garbage Ordinance and placement of trash cans. No action taken.
Discussion regarding the curbs and/or Ordinance update. No Action taken however, council believes that
a possible 5-year long term plan should be considered to address the curbs in the Borough.
