Discussion & Updates
- Discussion -Strategic Management Plan – Council discussed at length the Strategic Management Plan PowerPoint proposals from Grass Roots Solutions and Management Partners that were presented to Council on December 10, 2020. Several council members were not impressed with the presentations and felt that some of the suggestions are what Council should be doing as best practices anyway and not spend funds out of the budget for this plan. Others felt there was not a need at this time to pursue the strategic financial plan.
Three council members were not behind the plan. A few members felt it may be a good idea to have no prior experience in municipal government and they could assist with getting grants and provide other guidance.
As a result, President Weinstein said there was not enough support to move forward with the Strategic Management Plan and perhaps in another year or two, consider it. President Weinstein will contact Mike Foreman and indicate that there is not enough support to proceed with the Strategic Management Plan..
