Official Action:
- Waste Hauler Bid– Council discussed the rate increase for 2022 and 2023 as proposed in the bid contract from Republic Services. Kent James received different rates from Republic Services in August via an email from Lori at Republic Services if we renewed the current contract for an additional year. Joe Fulton, Kent James, and Maryann Weinstein will contact Republic Services to negotiate the trash rates for a one-year extension and present to Council at the November 1, 2021, meeting.
- Cell phone options. – Aaron Lucero gave the Council quotes from Verizon for 1 iPhone and 1 Android phone with the Verizon plan. ????? No longer use the Sprint plan.
Motion Kris LaGreca, second by Kent James to approve the Verizon service plan not to exceed $130 per month for both phones. – Motion passed.
Motion Michael McCormick, second Kris LaGreca, to approve the two(2) phones ?? listed on the quote not to exceed $610.00. – Motion passed.
Motion Kris LaGreca, second Dan Bird to add Aaron Lucero to the Verizon Account. – Motion passed.
- Monument Cleaning – Motion Michael McCormick, second Dan Bird to authorize Paul Clark to clean the monument at no cost, while maintaining the Patina on the monument. – Motion passed.
- ARLE Grant Engineering Costs – Trans Associates-Cliff Eich, Engineer (ADDED TO THE AGENDA)
Memorial Park Memorial Cleaning – Joe Fulton made a motion and seconded by Doug Corwin to approve an amount not to exceed $4,700 payable to Trans Associates, Cliff Eich, Engineer for engineering services on the ARLE Radar Sign project. – Motion passed.
- For Information: Playground Equipment – Sarah Boyce – ADDED TO THE AGENDA Sarah Boyce will be getting bids out by November 5, 2021, for the playground equipment. Sarah Boyce will discuss how to use the American Rescue Funds for the MS4 Project on Monday, November 8, 2021, at 7:00 pm.
- For Information: W&J East Lane – Move the entrance. No action needed from EWB ADDED TO THE AGENDA President Weinstein said W&J has been discussing the entrance at East Lane and Beau Street with PENNdot. W&J is now working with the City of Washington to move the entrance within the boundaries of the City of Washington. Consequently, East Washington Borough Council does not need to take any action on this project.
- For Information: Fire Contract – Kris LaGreca. Estimated $2,000 increase per year. ADDED TO THE AGENDA Kris LaGreca will provide information soon.
