East Washington, Pa. East Washington Mayor Michael Gomber announced East Washington Borough will be adopting a state of emergency declaration because the COVID-19 outbreak is present now in all 50 states. This is a procedural process that permits East Washington Borough to be prepared to react in a minute notice to any critical situations and receive FEMA funding, only if the need arises. We want to stay ahead of the COVID-19 pandemic and allow communication and cooperation with Federal, State, County agencies to maintain safety with solutions for all our residents. At this time, this declaration is not indicative of heightened threat of COVID-19 exposure to East Washington Residents. Our objective is being prepared for our resident’s safety.
Our Borough, Staff and Council are well prepared. All our elected officials and staff are NIMS trained. East Washington has been working with many other communities to provide the best solutions since we all share the same COVID-19 concern of resident safety together. All the communities believe it is better to work on solutions together by being prepared for all scenarios. We are working as neighbor helping neighbor to benefit everyone in our boroughs, our counties, our state and our country. We thank everyone for their efforts and contributions in finding solutions to keep your and our community safe and healthy.
East Washington City Hall is closed due to CIVID-19 but for assistance you can call our office because our secretary is working from home to help our residence.
