On Monday, January 3rd during the re-organization meeting Matthew Boice was sworn in as the new Mayor of East Washington. Administrating the oath was Judge John F. DiSalle who also swore in newly elected council members Demond Nixon and Michael McCormick along with Dawn Petrosky as the East Washington / Washington School District tax collector. Councilmember Maryann Weinstein took the oath of office earlier in the day to begin her second term.

Mayor Boice was a member of the Council for one term serving also as Council President “I am excited to once again join the East Washington Borough team, this time as your Mayor. We have some very good people on board among the staff and council members with a broad range of expertise. I’m excited to see what the future holds for our Borough” said Boice.

Following the oath, the council nominated and approved Ms. Weinstein to continue to serve as Council President with Doug Corwin being nominated as Vice President.
