On Tuesday, the borough submitted a grant to the PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), requesting approximately $212,000 in funding from the Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program (GTRP) for trail improvements and amenities within the borough green space, located at the end of Christman Avenue, between LeMoyne Avenue and the public works lot on Beau Street. The borough will provide a 15% match of the total project cost if grant funding is received.
The current renovation project at Nicholas Cumer Park is partially funded by a $75,000 GTRP grant that the borough received in 2021. Borough Council pursued this latest grant to improve our trails and facilities within the green space based on resident input gathered from an online survey that was posted in March 2022. We look forward to the continual improvement of borough parks, and expanding outdoor recreation opportunities for all residents and visitors.
