East Washington residents John and Jonna Murphy transformed their Murphy’s Little Free Library into a temporary food bank. This morning Jonna Murphy posted “With people dutifully staying home during this Pandemic, we saw a decline in the use of our Murphy’s Little Free Library. We know this is a difficult time for many good people with layoffs, and decided to temporarily turn our library into a temporary little free food bank.”
Their philosophy is to take what you need or contribute if you can. This is a great way to help East Washington residents who may need a little help during this time. However, if your need is greater you will find more information at the Greater Washington County Food Bank website.
We are all in this together. The Murphy Little Free Foodbank is located at 511 Central Avenue.
When this is all over the Murphy Little Free Library will return as a way to borrow books. For more information, you can follow Murphy’s Little Free Library Facebook Page.
