East Washington Borough is participating in the KidCents Safe Medication Disposal program to combat prescription drug abuse and misuse. The program focuses on reducing drug accessibility, medication misuse, and accidental poisoning among children and teens. A medication disposal unit for residents to safely dispose of expired or unwanted medications is located at the Borough building (15 Thayer Street.)
Accepted medications include prescription medications and over-the-counter medications. Not accepted are illegal drugs, needles, lotions or liquids, inhalers, aerosol cans, thermometers, or hydrogen peroxide.
Drop-offs will remain anonymous. The East Washington Police will not collect any information from residents dropping off the medications. The box will be emptied every day. For any questions or concerns please contact the Borough secretary.
