East Washington Borough Council met by telephone conference on Monday evening, April 6. Our emergency management officer, Gerald Coleman, who is also the fire chief in Washington, was very complimentary of the behavior of the citizens of the borough during this COVID-19 crisis. Chief Coleman’s impression is that many of us are adhering to the governor’s order to shelter in place which makes the work of our emergency responders much more tolerable and keeps them safe.
We have noticed some problems that we would like you to correct. When outdoors, please maintain the 6 feet of distance between you and anyone you might pass on the sidewalk, etc. Also, please put all your trash in plastic bags. We have found items such as used gloves on the street which is a health hazard.
Thank you for your cooperation during this very difficult time.
