East Washington Borough is excited to announce a program to purchase a bench to be placed at Nicholas Cumer Park in dedication/memorialization for your loved ones or honor a person. This generous donation will sponsor the purchase and placement of a bench with a dedication plaque in the park and will benefit the residents and the Borough for many years.
Bench Details:
The bench is 6 feet long, cedar-colored, and made of recycled plastic with a surface mount, cast aluminum, and powder-coated frame. The bronze plaque will be placed on the back of each bench with the name and information about the recipient.
Placement:
The Park and Shade committee has identified nine locations where the benches can be placed. Choice of placement is first come first serve with an approved application and payment.
Process:
To sponsor a bench, please complete the application below or download the PDF and submit it to the Borough Secretary with a check for the full amount. Borough Council along with the Parks and Shade committee will review all applications and may request additional information. Please note that the Borough can deny any application with the check returned to the sponsor.
Approved sponsored benches will be purchased in early 2025. Each bench will be fastened to a cement footing and installed in early Spring when the temperature allows. Once installed, sponsors may have a dedication ceremony with the sponsor and person-dedicated names listed on the Borough website.
